Mamie Walker Chodzinski 80, of Carlyle Nursing Home, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday in the nursing home. Mrs. Chodzinski was born Feb. 2, 1906, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. On Sept. 3, 1923, in South Bend, as Mamie Morence, she married Henry Chodzinski. He died in 1982. She is survived by four daughters, Alice Pauszek, Lorraine Zielinski and Gloria Chlebek, all of South Bend, and Irene Szczypiorski of North Liberty; a son, Harry of South Bend; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, John, Casimir and Edward Morence, all of South Bend.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. today in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. St. Joseph Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
