SOUTH BEND - Harry J. Chodzinski, 91, passed away at 4:15 pm, Sunday, January 10, 2016 in his home. Harry was born May 23, 1924 in South Bend to the late Henry and Maimee (Lawrence) Chodzinski. On July 10, 1943 in South Bend Harry married the late Harriet “Hattie” M. (Machowiak) Chodzinski. Harry was also preceded in death by a sister, Alice Pauszek. Survivors include son, Don (Jan) Chodzinski of South Bend; granddaughter, Michele (Antar) Wilson of Norfolk, VI; great-grandchildren, Naomi, Abigail, Josiah, Julia and Rachael; grandson, Gary (Mary) Chodzinski of Wilsonville, OR; great-grandchildren, Jaedyn and Chloe; and sisters, Lorraine Zielinski of South Bend, Gloria Chlebek of South Bend, and Irene Szczypiorski of North Liberty. Harry honorably served his country in the US Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post 357. He work for AM General before retiring in 1986. He was a parishioner of St. Casimir Catholic Church. Harry was a great fisherman, enjoyed camping and being outdoors. Harry loved his riding lawnmower winter or summer and his Lincoln Towncar. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Visitation is 4-8pm Thursday, January 14, 2016 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Friday, January 15, 2016 in St. Casmir's Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
