Alice A. Horvath
SOUTH BEND - Alice A. Horvath, 76, of 67780 Thunderbird Drive, Sturgis, formerly of South Bend, died at 5:55pm Saturday in her home. Mrs. Horvath retired in 1980 from the University of Notre Dame. She was born June 6, 1915, in South Bend, and had lived in South Bend for 65 years, before moving to Sturgis. On June 6, 1939, in South Bend, as Alice Przybysz, she married August R. Horvath. He survives with a daughter, Christine Watkins of Edwardsburg; two sons, Kenneth of Niles and Richard of Dallas; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia Marshall of Battle Creek MI. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sturgis, Seniors Club of the church and Tri-State & South Bend Area Genealogical Society.
Services will be at noon Wednesday in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will be at St Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9pm Tuesday in St Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care Inc., 110 S. Clay Street, Sturgis MI 49091.
