George J. Gadowski
April 11, 1892 - April 24, 1974
George J. Gadowski, 82, of 534 S. Grant St., was dead on arrival at 1:43pm Wednesday at St Josephs Hospital. He retired in 1957 from the Studebaker Corp. Born April 11, 1892, in Poland, he had lived here 65 years since coming from Poland. On May 7, 1917, in South Bend, he married Martha Kubacki, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs Gertrude Vargyas, Mrs. Eleanor Tyler, Mrs. Mildred Kobylarek and Mrs. Lucille Barczykowski, all of South Bend; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Friends may call from 7 to 9pm today and 2 to 9pm Friday at the St Joseph Funeral Home. Services will be at 10am Saturday in St Adalberts Catholic Church. Rev. Eugene Kazmierczak, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the St Joseph Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 7:30pm today and a parish wake service will be held at 7pm Friday in the funeral home. Mr. Gadowski was a member of the Studebaker Retirement Club.
