The South Bend Area Genealogical Society on June 26, 2023 hosted a presentation featuring Robin McDonough (filling in for Brent Trout) of the St. Louis County Library and Ortssippenbücher (OSB) Records German family history research.

Church records are a vital source of genealogical information, and this is certainly true for German family history research. Luckily, you might find one in the form of an Ortssippenbuch (OSB) which translates as “local clan book.” The St. Louis County Library has a collection of these records and told us how to access them.
