Welcome to the April 2025 conference - Scott Norrick
In 2025, the South Bend Area Genealogical Society spring conference moves to April rather than May in years past. We are pleased to present our guest speaker, professional genealogist Scott Norrick, on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
Scott has over 30 years of family history research. He has been published in the Indiana Genealogical Society’s Indiana Genealogist, has presented at The Association of Professional Genealogists annual conference, and has been a featured guest on the radio show/podcast Extreme Genes. He has also traced and documented thousands of ancestors and relatives in both the United States and Northern Europe.
At the SBAGS conference, his programs will include:
- Germans to America’s Midwest (1848-1900)
- Civil War Immigrant Soldiers in the Union Army, and
- 1950 Census Insights and Discoveries: his extensive research of the 1950 census revealed occupations, origins, income and educational levels, military service and other interesting insights. This data is used to paint a picture of what life was like in 1950 and is customizable to the Midwest state, county, or city level.
