St Joseph County Cemetery Locations
One of the most exciting events for a genealogist is finding the burial locations of your ancestors. You locate an obituary or death certificate which gives the name of the cemetery but these records do not give the location of the cemetery.. The majority of cemeteries are not listed in the telephone book because they do not have an on site office. Most local residents don’t know where all of the cemeteries are located, especially the small rural cemeteries. This document should help to bridge that gap.
This listing of the cemeteries of St. Joseph County Indiana was first printed in the October 2002 and January 2003 issues of the South Bend Area Genealogical Society Quarterly. Since then additional burial grounds have been identified, and many driving directions have changed do to new road construction. All driving directions begin at the St. Joseph County Public Library Main Branch, 304 S. Main Street, in downtown South Bend.
Due to periodic changes to the streets and highways, driving directions are subject to change. Any changes will be added to this data base as they are known.
