==============
The "United States Germans to America Index" indicates that Fridolin Hasenbehler, 44, born in Germany [sic] arrived in the port of New York City on the ship "California" on May 21, 1880. Later that year, on October 30, 1880, Brigitta Hasenbehler, 35, along with Brigitta, 3, and Anna, 1, all born in Switzerland, arrived in the port of New York City on the ship "Nederland". Anna's mother died in South Bend, IN, in 1883. In the 1900 federal census of South Bend, Anna is listed with her father Fred and sister Rose. (Her older sister, Brigitta, had entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross.) Two years later, on May 6, 1902, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Anna married David Voorde. The church marriage record lists her parents, Fridolinus and Brigitta Wittling Hasenbehler. Anna Voorde's obituary was published in The South Bend Tribune on May 29, 1957. Her date and place of death are given in her Indiana death certificate for which her husband, David Voorde, was the informant. It was his understanding that she had been born Oct. 24, 1879 in Indiana. Re: David Voorde's memorial for their marriage and a list of their children.
