Obituary from p. 36 of the 18 NOV 1945 edition of the “South Bend Tribune”:

Mrs. Valeria Bednarek, aged 39, of 2522 Frederickson street. died in her home at 4:36 p.m., Saturday after five months' illness. She was born in South Bend June 5, 1906, and lived her entire life here. She leaves her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Radecki, South Bend; her husband, Stanley Bednarek, and one daughter, Lois, South Bend; four brothers, Walter, Leo, and Stephen Radecki, South Bend, and Pfc. Bernard Radecki in Rome, Italy, and three sisters, Sister M. Perseweranda and Sister M. Grace, both of the Holy Family of Nazareth order in Des Plaines, III., and Mrs. Clementine Hencelewski, of South Bend. Friends will be received in the residence after 3 p. m. today and until the funeral at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic church. Rev. Anthony Rozewicz, C. S. C., pastor, will sing the mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph Polish cemetery. The South Bend Area Genealogical Society Marriage Record Index shows an entry for Stanley Bednarek & Valeria Radecki on 7 MAR 1936. In the 1920 census, she is enumerated as “Laura.”
