Marion F. Banasiewicz Jr., 65, of South Bend, passed away at Memorial Hospital on Thursday, February 10, 2005.

He was born on March 20, 1939, in South Bend, to Marion F. and Frances (Lisicke) Banasiewicz Sr., who preceded him in death, along with his wife, Darlene, who passed away in1993.

On January 23, 1997, Marion married Connie Taylor, who survives. Also surviving are daughters, Betty (Rick) Roberts of Buchanan, MI., Barbara Banasiewicz of South Bend; son, William Banasiewicz of South Bend; stepson, Dean (Tammie) Romeo of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Bryce and Brett Banasiewicz, Brittany, Danielle, Lauren and Hannah Roberts, Christopher Romeo and sister, Roberta Wozniak of South Bend.

Marion retired from The Coca-Cola Bottling Company in 2003, where he worked in shipping and receiving. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and Reno. He took pride in his yard and gardening. Marion enjoyed watching NASCAR races on the weekend. Ryan Newman was his favorite driver. He honorably served in the U.S. Army and was discharged in 1964.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, February13 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME. 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home on Monday, February 14, 2005, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend.
