GALIEN -- Angeline A. Koziel, 87, formerly of Galien, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, in the Jordan Nursing Home, Bridgman.She was born to George and Victoria (Kobylarczyk) Buczyna on Feb. 18, 1912, in Chicago, and had lived most of her life in Galien. On June 16, 1934, as Angeline A. Buczyna, she married Sigmund M. Koziel in Chicago. He preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1970. Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Annette M. Lashua; her parents -- George and Victoria Buczyna; two sisters; and four brothers, including the Rev. Joseph Buczyna, former pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, LaPorte, Ind. She is survived by three daughters -- Victoria A. Parrett of LaPorte, Ind., Michalene M. Smith of Galien and Patricia J. Hemphill of Bridgman; four sons -- John D. Koziel and Richard D. Koziel, both of Galien, Bernard G. Koziel of Sadieville, Ky., and Joseph J. Koziel of New Carlisle, Ind.; 24 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Koziel was a member of St. John Kanty Parish, Rolling Prairie, Ind. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. (EST) Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at St. John Kanty Catholic Church, Rolling Prairie, Ind., with the Rev. Donald Suberlak, the Rev. Thaddeus Kwak and Deacon Emil Gembara officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Kanty Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. (EST) Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert St., New Carlisle, Ind., where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. (EST).
