South Bend News-Times, Sun., Feb. 26, 1922, p. 2:
"August Buysse, 703 S. Monson st., died Friday night of heart failure, following an illness of one year.
"He was born in Belgium Dec. 29, 1857, and was 64 years old. He came to South Bend 30 years ago and has resided here since.
"He is survived by his wife, Natila, and four children, Mrs. Dan Carpienter of Diamondale, Mich.; Mrs. Bartha Barzo, Marie and Arthur, all of South Bend. He was a member of the Pigeon club [and]...an employee of Studebakers."The funeral will be held from the Sacred Heart church Monday morning. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove cemetery."
