SOUTH BEND - Eleanor M. Jackowiak, 93, of Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, died Thursday in the center.
Survivors include a daughter, Lorraine Culp of Goshen; a son, Matthew of South Rend: and four sisters. Helen Kush. Alice Pajakowski and Clementine Suth, all of South Bend, and Esther Meers of Anaheim, Calif. Services will be at 1 1 a.m. Monday in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Kaniewski Funeral Home. 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a rosary w ill be said at 3:30 p.m.

Sept. 6, 1906 - April 13, 2000

Eleanor M. Jackowiak, 93, of Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, Ind., passed away in the nursing home at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 13. She was born on Sept. 6, 1906, to the late Ignatius and Mary (Nowak) Pajakowski in South Bend, and had remained a lifelong resident. On Nov. 15, 1927, as Eleanor M. Pajakowski, she married Stanley J. Jackowiak, Sr., in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, South Bend. He died on Sept. 21, 1972.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Stanley J. Jackowiak, Jr.; and by three brothers, Casey J. Pajakowski, Eugene Pajakowski, and Aloysius Pajakowski. She is survived by a daughter, Lorraine (George) Culp of Goshen, Ind.; a son, Matthew (Mary Ann) Jackowiak of South Bend; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Jackowiak of South Bend; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and by four sisters, Helen Kush of South Bend, Alice Pajakowski of South Bend, Clementine Suth of South Bend, and Esther Meers of Anaheim, Calif. Mrs. Jackowiak was a member of St. Adalbert's Catholic Parish, and was a cook at St. Patrick's Parish, where she cooked tor weddings for several years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 1 a.m. on Monday, April 17, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church with Rev. Daryl Rybicki officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Polish Roman Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, April 16, in KaniewskiI Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Adalbert Catholic Church, 2420 W. Huron Street, South Bend, IN 46619.
