Stanley J. (Stevie) Jackowiak Sr., 74, died at 12:15 a.m. today in the Carlyle Nursing Home after an extended illness. He was retired in 1965 from the Bendix Corp., where he had been employed 32 years. He was born July 2, 1898 in South Bend and had lived here all of his life. On Nov. 15, 1926, he married Eleanor M. Pajakowski, who survives, along with two sons, Stanley Jr. and Matthew J. and a daughter, Mrs. Lorraine Culp, all of South Bend, and 10 grandchildren. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 9 p.m. Friday in Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Casimir's Catholic Church, Rev. Edgar S. Szymanski, C.S.C. assistant pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Mr. Jackowiak was a veteran of World War I, and a member of Lottie A. Zell Garrison 146, Army and Navy Union, and the Bendix Oldtimers Club.
