Ignatius Pajakowski, 85, of 450 S. Warren St., father of Casimir J. Pajakowski, U.S. marshal [Marshal} and former St. Joseph County clerk, died at 1 p.m. Wednesday in his home after a short illness. He was a retired grocer. Mr. Pajakowski was born on July 27, 1881, in Poland and came to South Bend 66 years ago from there. His wife, the former Mary Nowak, died on Aug. 13, 1955. In addition to this son, Casimir, he is survived by another son, Eugene. J., former U.S.marshal [Marshal] and St. Joseph County treasurer; five daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Kackowiak, Mrs. Clementine Suth, Mrs. Helen Kush, all of South Bend, Mrs. Esther Meers of Anaheim, Calif., and Miss Alice at home; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Saturday at Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, Rev. John J. Moskal, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Mr. Pajakowski was active in political circles for a number of years and was a member of the West Side Democrat & Civic Club.
