Helen Stscherban, 94, of Mishawaka, Indiana, died on Monday, October 12, 2015, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Indiana of natural causes. Helen was born on March 14, 1921 in Kharkov, Ukraine. She immigrated to the United States with her husband and two of her children in 1951. In 193, in Yugoslavia, she married Nikolaj Stscherban. He preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her son, Nikolaj Jr. (Nick) and brother, John Chomenko. Survivors include daughters Ella (Joseph) Amaral of South Bend, Indiana, Jean (Jacob) Tepeli of Frankfort, Illinois and Paul (Kathy) Stscherban of Mishawka, Indiana. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Stephanie Stscherban of Indianapolis, Indiana, Joseph Amaral Jr. of Boston, Mass., Alex Stscherban and John Stscherban, both of Mishawaka, Indiana, Nicholas Tepeli, Michael Tepeli and Natalie Tepeli, all of Chicago, Illinois. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Maria Chomenko. Friends may call at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, Indiana from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2015 where there will be a Panahyda (Prayer Service) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2015 at Bubb Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka Indiana. Burial will follow the services at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, Indiana. She was a loving wife, mother and friend. She will be greatly missed
