Paul Stscherban
16, 1954 - April 17, 2022
Paul Stscherban of Mishawaka, passed away at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at the age of 67. He was born on September 16, 1954, in Mishawaka to the late Nikolaj and Helen (Chomenko) Stscherban. Paul earned his BA from Indiana University in 1976 and his MA from the University of Notre Dame in 1978. He began his almost 40 year career within Wealth Management at Raffensperger Hughes in 1982. He joined Baird in 1991 and as a Managing Director was tasked, along with close colleague and friend Jodi Finn, with opening the Mishawaka, IN branch. Paul was recognized as one of Financial Times’ “Top 400 Financial Advisors”, Barron’s “Top 1,000 Financial Advisors”, Research Magazine’s “Outstanding Advisor” and Forbes inaugural list of “Best in State Wealth Advisors”. First and foremost, Paul loved being a dad. He was so very proud of his two sons, with mother Kathy Stscherban, and the bond they had over family passions; especially British cars and sailing. Paul, along with close friends, started the Michiana Brits Car Club. His love for sailing on Lake Michigan was passed down to his boys through casual rides along the shoreline of South Haven, MI and then competitive sailing within the Annual Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac; a lifelong dream of Paul’s. Along with his wife, Ann Rutledge, Paul is survived by his sons, Alex Stscherban residing in St. Joseph, MI and John (Alyssa) Stscherban of Mishawaka, IN; his sister, Ella (Joseph) Amaral of South Bend, IN; and his twin sister, Jean (Dr. Agop) Tepeli of Chicago, IL. He was predeceased by his brother, Nikolas “Nick” Stscherban. Services for Paul will take place on Thursday, April 21, at 2:00pm at Palmer Funeral Home-Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 11:00am until the time of services. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions in Paul’s name can be made to the Michigan Maritime Museum, 260 Dyckman Avenue, South Haven, MI 49090.
