On 16 Jun 1925 in New Carlisle IN he married Wanda Pietraszewski who survives with their children: Tech Sgt Theodore in the Air Force in the Phillipines; Sgt Joseph Jr with the US Army in Korea, Mrs Clara Szczapczynski of Niagra Falls NY and Mrs Theresa Whitmer of North Liberty IN; four brothers; Michael, Leon, Carl, Frank of North Liberty IN.

Burial: Saint Joseph Cemetery, South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana
