60th Anniversary

James (Jim) and Theresa Whitmer of North Liberty celebrated sixty years of marriage on April 5, 2013, at their winter home in Avon Park, Florida. Theresa Golubski and Jim Whitmer met while attending Greene Township High School, from which they both graduated in 1952. They were married April 5, 1953, at the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren, in North Liberty. The couple have five children, William, Thomas, and Timothy, all of North Liberty, Jill of Cassopolis, MI, and Philip of Rochester. They have fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Jim and Theresa have jointly run Whitmer Farms, Inc. of North Liberty for more than 50 years. An open house to celebrate this momentous occasion has been planned for Saturday, May 18 from 2pm to 4pm, at the North Liberty Community Building, 300 S. Main St., North Liberty, IN 46554.
