KOONTZ LAKE - Joseph Valentine Golubski, 81, was born on February 14, 1931 in St. Joseph County, Indiana to Joseph and Wanda (Pietraszewski) Golubski. He passed away after an extended illness on June 29, 2012 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN. On November 24, 1963 in Walkerton, IN, he was married to Mary Jo Parks. Joe was a retired construction worker and a member of the Local #81. He was a member of the Koontz Lake Poker Club and the North Liberty VFW # 1954. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and he loved to play cards, golf and watch football. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Wanda; and brothers, Theodore, Norbert and Leonard. Joe is survived by: his wife of 48 years, Mary Jo; three children, Rhonda (Wayne) Hostetler of Walkerton, Michael Golubski of Koontz Lake and Dianne (Bob) McCall of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Joshua Hostetler, Jacob Hostetler, and Leticia (Dave) Emery; two great-grandchildren, Jennifer and William; two sisters, Teresa (Jim) Whitmer of North Liberty and Clara Sczetezenski of New York, and many other family members who were close to him and loved him very much. Joe loved to joke and play with his kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) in Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Burial will follow at the Tyner Cemetery where military graveside services will be conducted. Friends may call Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET and Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. To leave online condolences, go to rannellsfuneralhome.com.
