MISHAWAKA, IN - Mary “Arlene” Groshans, 77, of Mishawaka, passed away at home on Saturday, December 19, 2020. Arlene was born December 6, 1943 in Mishawaka, a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth “Betty” (Fotia) Wullaert. She was a 1961 graduate of Mishawaka High School. Arlene married Gary L. Groshans on April 19, 1969 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka. The couple lived most of their married life in Mishawaka. Arlene's employment included St. Joseph Bank in South Bend, Marian High School Cafeteria in Mishawaka, and Growing Kids in South Bend. She was a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Arlene enjoyed crossword puzzles, coloring, and shopping. Her family was the center of her life and she particularly loved caring for her grandchildren. Arlene is survived by her husband of 51 years, Gary; a daughter, Kristina (Keith) Beaver; a son, Mark (Bekky) Groshans; three grandchildren, Tyler, Zachary, and Nicholas; four sisters, Gina (Larry) DeLaruelle, Patricia DeLaruelle, Janice (Steve) VanVooren and Kathy Wullaert; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday, December 23, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Christopher Lapp officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Tuesday in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka.
