MISHAWAKA - Elizabeth Mary "Betty" Wullaert, 95, of Mishawaka, passed away on Friday, February 10th, in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, after a brief Illness. Betty was born on February 24, 1916, in South Amboy, New Jersey, as the daughter of Anthony and Mary (Demarko) Fotia. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Frances Perry and Rose Zappia, and by three brothers, Dominick, Frank and Joseph Fotia. On November 20, 1941, in Mishawaka, as the former Betty Fotia, she married George Wullaert, who preceded her in death on March 4, 1999. Surviving Betty are daughters, Mary "Arlene" (Gary) Groshans of Mishawaka, Georgina "Gina" (Larry) De Laruelle of South Bend, Patricia De Laruelle of Fishers, IN, Janice (Steven) Van Vooren of Osceola, Kathleen Wullaert of Fishers, IN. Nine grandchildren, Jennifer Rozmarynowski, Kristina Beaver, Heather Dewaelsche, Matthew De Laruelle, Jaquelin Bartus, Mark Groshans, Julie Fleming, Jocelyn Martindale and Cynthia Van Vooren, and nine great-grandchildren. Betty was employed by Uniroyal in Mishawaka, Robertson's Department Store and House of Fabrics. Before her retirement Betty worked at Wendy's Restaurant on Lincoln Way in South Bend where she would love talking and sharing stories with the customers. Family and friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 pm today, February 13, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, February 14th, at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Terry Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made in Betty's name to the American Heart Association or to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka.
