MISHAWAKA, IN - Gary L. Groshans, 74, of Mishawaka, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, March 6, 2021, at Hospice House, Elkhart. Gary was born October 17, 1946 in South Bend, a son of the late Charles and Cuba (Niblick) Groshans. He grew up in South Bend and was a graduate of Central High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Gary married Mary “Arlene” Wullaert on April 19, 1969 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka. The couple lived most of their married life in Mishawaka. Gary retired from AT&T after 25 years working in their engineering department. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka. Gary was an avid Jeopardy fan. He coached his son's Southwest Little League Baseball team as well as his basketball team at St. Joseph Grade School. Gary was preceded in death by his wife Arlene on December 19, 2020; as well as three brothers, Ed, Jack, and Bob; and a sister, Betty. Gary is survived by a daughter, Kristina (Keith) Beaver; a son, Mark (Bekky) Groshans; three grandchildren, Tyler, Zachary, and Nicholas, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be TODAY, Tuesday, March 9, from 4 - 6 pm in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka. A Catholic Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 10, at 1:30 pm in the funeral home, with Rev. Christopher Lapp officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, with Military Honors by VFW 360/American Legion 161 Burial Squad. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Center for Hospice Care.
