Mary Runkle, 80, Route #1 Akron, Indiana, died Saturday morning at Woodlawn Hospitay Rochester, Indiana where she had been a patient for two days.
The daughter of Alfred and Mary (GRELLE) DUEY, she was born September 22, 1896 in Miami County Indiana and was a lifetime resident of the Akron community. On November 1, 1930 she was married at Chicago, Illinois, to Edgar T. RUNKLE, who preceded her in death in 1965. Mrs. RUNKLE was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and the Omega Club. Suravivors include two sons, Robert RUNKLE, Akron, and Dean RUNKLE, LaPorte, INdiana, four grandchildren; one great-grand-son and a brother, Philip A. DUEY, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Seravices were Tuesday morning at the SHEETZ Funeral Home, Akron, with the Rev. Richard HARTLERODE officiating. Burial was in the Akron I.O.O.F. cemetery.
