Edgar T. RUNKLE, 72, Route 1, Akron, Indiana died a 9 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana, after an illness of three years. He had been hospitalized in South Bend for one week. Born March 5, 1893, in Whitley County, he was the son of Isaiah and Ida Haindel Rukle. He was married November 1, 1903, in Chicago to Mary A. DUEY, who survives. Mr. RUNKLE, a farmer and former school teadher, was a member of the Modern Woodmen Lodge and the Fulton County Farm Bureau, He was a former director and president of the REMC and Farm Bureau and a member of the Pleasant Hill Church. Survivng with the wife are two soms, Robert of Akron and Dean of LaPorte, Indiana and four grandchildren. Two sisters are deceased. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday at the Pleasant Hill Church, with the Rev. Doyle PAVEY of North Manchester in charge, burial will be in the Akron I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the SHEETS Funeral Home in Akron until 12:30 p.m. Saturday and at the church one hour before services.
