INDEX
[N519]
Theodore's marriage application in 1921 shows that Maryanna was born in Germany. Selma's marriage application in 1928 shows Maryanna was from Poland.
Maryanna's Certificate of Death does not mention her parents names; the informant was her son Theodore. She died at 9:17 P.M. and her cause of death was Uermia - Three Days Hypertension with Chronic Nephritis.
The following obit appeared in the 5-11-1937 South Bend Tribune:
MRS. MARYANNA RYDZYNSKI
MRS. MARYANNA Rydzynski, aged 76, of 1049 West Sample street, died at 9:17 o'clock Monday evening in her home after an illness of four weeks. Born in Poland, Jan 29 1861, she came to South Bend from that country 52 years ago. Surviving are five sons, Thomas, John, Joseph, Peter and Theodore Rydzynski; three daughters: Miss Josephine, Mrs Frances Wlodarski, and Mrs. Selma Nowicki; two sisters Mrs. Catherine Stachowiak and Mrs Constance Moskwinski; 24 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of South Bend. The body may be viewed in the home. The funeral will be held at 9 o'clock, Friday morning from St. Hedwig's Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Francis X Luzny, C.S.C. pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Polish Cemetery. Mrs. Rydzynski was a member of the Women's Holy Rosary Society, the Apostleship of Prayer and the Third Order of St. Francis of St. Hedwig's Church, and the Daughters of Poland society No 21, Polish Women's Alliance of America.
Maryanna's last will and testament indicates that her son Theodore and her daughter Jospehine would be in charge of making arrangements for her funeral. She left 1/3 interest in a lot owned by her husband to her daughter Josephine; she indicates that since she had expended a sum $800 for her daughter Frances Wlodarski in the past, she left her $5.00; she left $5.00 to the two daughters of her daughter Mary, who had already passed away; she divided up the remaining property and cash to her children: Thomas, Josephine, John, Joseph, Theodore and Peter Rydzinski, Selma Nowicki and Frances Wlodarski.
