SOUTH BEND - Lee R. Cukrowicz, 58, passed away in his Yuma, Arizona, home June 17, 2009, after an extended illness. He was born to Arthur and Dolores (Krojniewski) Cukrowicz on February 23, 1951. They preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Maria Cukrowicz; his stepchildren, Cynthia (Alberto) Gomez of South Bend, Fred (Cathy) Jimenez of New Carlisle, Sandra (David) Watson of Texas, Blanca (Kevin Cole) Jimenez of Arizona and Belinda Ferraro of California; his siblings, Nick Cukrowicz of South Bend, Veronica (Scott) Prestine of Niles and Edward (Michael Miles) Cukrowicz of Florida; 14 grandchildren; and lots of nieces and nephews. Lee was a member of the Gold Prospectors of America, which is what he spent most of his time doing in Arizona. He was an ASE certified mechanic while he lived most of his life in South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in his name. There will be a memorial service on the one year anniversary of his death in Arizona where friends and family will meet to scatter his ashes.
