[N5353] Funeral Services for Karl Herman Hoffmann 81, of 2509 Bertrand who died at 6 am Wednesday in his home will be at 2 pm Saturday in St Pauls Lutheran Church the Rev. Edmund Broders officiating and burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 pm today in the Orvis Palmer Funeral Home. Mr. Hoffmann had been ill for two months. He was born in Silesia, Germany on September 4 1880 and came to this country (South Bend ) in 1904. On October 28 1916 he married Anna Borostowski. Mr. Hoffman was a retired carpenter - contractor. Surviving are is widow Anna, a son Herman of South Bend and four daughters; Mrs Irma Sayers, Mrs Mildred Kristowski, and Mrs Eleanor Engtrom all of South Bend and Mrs Hilda Weaver of Lakeville, Indiana; 13 grand children, 9 great grand children and a brother Wilhelm of East Berlin, Germany . Mr. Hoffmann was a member of St Pauls Church, The South Bend Civiv Planning Association, the South Bend Schwaben Club, and the South Bend Turners for 50 years.

Pall Bearers will be : Ronald and John Sayer, Robert Engstrom, and Dennis , Alan and Arnold Kristowski.
