Michael Portolese, 71, of 806 E. Battell St., died at 6:30am today in St Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Plati, Italy, June 6, 1896, and came here from Italy in 1908. He was retired from UniRoyal Inc., in 1961. He married Angela Mittiga in Plati, November 5, 1920 Surviving are his widow; four sons, Frank, Joseph C., Ross L. and Dominic, all of Mishawaka; two daughters, Misses Margaret and Mary Portolese, at home; 12 grandchildren and a brother Frank, of Mishawaka.
Friends may call in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral home after 7pm today. Mr. Portolese was a founder of the DiLoreto Club an former vice-president of that club. He also was a member of St Monica's Church and American Legion Post 161. He was a veteran of WW I.

FUNERAL NOTES
Funeral services for Michael Portolese, 71, of 806 E. Battell St., who died Thursday morning, will be at 10am Saturday in St Monica's Church. Rt Rev. Msgr. Leo A. Hoffmann, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7:30pm today in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home where friends may call.
