WESTVILLE - William Michael Hegedus, 81 of Westville, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at his home. He was born October 17, 1933 in South Bend, the son of Michael and Helen (Kline) Hegedus, who preceded him in death. Bill was a US Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #738 and was involved with the Boy Scout Troop #995 at one time. On August 4, 1956 at St. Paul Catholic Church, he married Mary Jane Matthys, who preceded him in death, April 23, 2009. Surviving are his sons, Stephen and Patrick Hegedus, both of Westville, 7 grandchildren, Courtney, Michael, Ryan, Ashley, Penny, Maggie and Evan, 4 great grandchildren, Ryder, Alyia, Levi and Austin, and 3 sisters, Juliann (Ray) Wolf of Milwaukee, Rosemary (Gene) Robinson of Nappanee and Marcia (Bill) Kuharic of Pueblo, CO. Visitation will be held Monday, February 2, 2015, 3-8 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St, Valparaiso. A Wake Service will be held Monday at 5:00 PM and the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Color Guard will attend Bill from 6-8 PM and present a letter of condolence to the family at 7:45 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1855 W. Harrison Blvd, Valparaiso, Rev. Joseph Pawlowski officiating.
