Alexander Golba, 82, of 1802 Western Ave, died at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Hospital after a brief illness. He was retired from the Studebaker Corp. Born May 7, 1889, in Poland, he came here, 50 years ago from Thomaston, Conn. On June 26, 1908, in Thomaston, he married Emilija Kulpanowski, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Edmund of Warren, Mich., and Richard; four daughters, Mrs. Sophie Springer, Mrs. Margaret Horvath, Mrs. Helen Hesler, and Mrs. Jane Krusinski, all of South Bend; 20 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and a brother, Ignatius of South Bend, Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 10 am. to 9 p.m. Friday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Adalbert's Catholic Church with Rev. John J. Moskal, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
