SOUTH BEND - Ronald R. Cichowicz, 64, of South Bend passed away on Sunday, September 7th at 5:40 AM at the VA Hospital in Marion, IN after an extended illness. He was born on December 13, 1949 in South bend to Chester and Dorothy (Gorney) Cichowicz. Ronald is survived by one aunt, Rita (Marion) Makowski of South Bend, one uncle, Richard (Sandy) Gorney of South Bend, and one nephew, Tim Cichowicz of South Bend. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis A. Cichowicz on August 19, 2014. Ronald was a U.S. Army veteran. Golfing was one of his favorite hobbies. Visitation hours will take place Thursday, September 11th from 2:00 PM 5:00 PM at Hanley and Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home located at 23421 State Road 23/ West Ireland Road, South Bend. Services are to follow at 5:00 PM in the funeral home. Ronald's wishes were to be cremated and his loving family has honored those wishes. Cremation has taken place. Burial is to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in South Bend at a later date. The family requests that all memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warriors Project at P.O.
