Death: Dec. 16, 1979
South Bend, St. Joseph County, IN

A story of Anna that is dear to my heart: One day, Anna locked herself out of her home, so she surveyed the windows from the outside and discovered only the bathroom window was partially open. She went her neighbor's home and used the phone to call her son (nicknamed "Sonny"), a policeman. "Sonny," she said to her son, "send me a cop, a skinny cop, so he can climb through the bathroom window - I've locked myself out."
