SOUTH BEND - Rudolph V. Kertai, 74, of Canterbury Drive, died at 3:05 a.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Kertai retired in 1984 as a machine repairman at RACO Inc. He was born October 4, 1916, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. In 1937, he married Bernice Everly. She preceded him in death. In 1975, he married Betty Sage. She survives with a son, Emery H. of Buchanan; a stepson, Kevin Bunch of LeClaire, Iowa; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren. He was a vertern of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 50, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360 in Mishawaka and Moose Lodge 599, Elkhart. He was an adviser for Boy Scouts of America for more than 40 years. Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Riverview Cemetery Mausoleum. there will be no visitation. Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2829 E. Jefferson, Indianapolis.
