NEW CARLISLE - John E. Nagy Jr., 83, of New Carlisle, IN, passed away Monday, October 11, 2010, in his home. He was born June 12, 1927, in South Bend, to the late John Sr. and Helen (Szucz) Nagy, and was a lifelong area resident. On May 22, 1948, he married Annabelle Simmons, who survives. Along with his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Rosemary (Timothy) Messer of Mishawaka and Barbara Lawson, Linda (Gary) Curless and Betty (Randy) Szczypiorski, all of New Carlisle; a son, Steve (LaDonna) Nagy of New Carlisle; six grandchildren, Dale Nagy, Monica Flagg, Angela Deutscher, Garrett Curless, Scott and Jeffrey Szczypiorski; six great-grandchildren, Dale Nagy Jr., Morgan Flagg, Rachal, Clayton, Chloe and Emma Deutscher; a sister, Helen Tarr of Elkhart; and two brothers, Richard of Fennville, MI, and James of Elkhart. John was a self-employed heating and siding man for Nagy Heating and Siding for over 40 years, before retiring in 1990. He was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Terre Coupee, and a member of the PNA. He was a United States Army veteran, and coached the New Prairie Little League and softball for many years. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2010, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S.
