Barbara A. Lawson, 73, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Hamilton Communities in New Carlisle, Indiana. She was born on January 17, 1950 in Elkhart, Indiana to the late John E. and Annabelle (Simmons) Nagy. Barbara was also preceded in death by one son in law, Matthew Flagg. She is survived by two daughters, Monica Flagg of New Carlisle, Indiana, Angie (Chris) Deutscher of North Liberty, Indiana, six grandchildren, Rachel, Clayton, Emma and Chloe Deutscher, Morgan and Lauren Flagg, three sisters, Rose (Tim) Messer of Mishawaka, Indiana, Linda (Gary) Curless of New Carlisle, Indiana, Betty (Randy) Szczypiorski of New Carlisle, Indiana and one brother, Steve (LaDonna) Nagy of New Carlisle, Indiana. Barb loved family and sports. Her favorite times were spent watching her six grandchildren in all of their different sports. She also was an animal lover, especially dogs. It wasn’t unusual to find her sneaking food off the table to a dog at a family gathering. In her younger, years Barb enjoyed time spent in her flower gardens and sitting outside watching her grandchildren play. In her later years she enjoyed watching sports and her hallmark movies (especially the ones with dogs). A visitation will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 at The North Liberty Church of Christ, 65225 IN-23, North Liberty, IN from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am in the church. Burial will be at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
