Deborah A. Bloom , 52, of Berrien Springs, passed away suddenly in her home on Friday morning, December 22, 2006. Debbie was born October 23, 1954, in South Bend, a daughter of James and Shirley (Wawrzynczak) Bloom . She grew up in South Bend and Lakeville and was a graduate of Laville High School in 1973. Debbie lived her entire life in the Michiana area. She was talented with crafts, especially needle work. Among items Debbie made were afghans, coasters, placemats and tissue box covers. She also enjoyed painting by numbers and was an excellent chocolate chip cookie baker. Debbie had a great fondness for her parents' dog, Tasha. Debbie's surviving family includes her mother, Shirley Bloom of Lakeville; two brothers, James B. Bloom of Bremen and Mark D. (Chris) Bloom of Lakeville; a sister, Susan J. (Larry) Walls of Unionville, Tennessee; three nieces, a nephew and a great-nephew. Debbie was preceded in death by her father Jim in 2003. Friends may spend time with Debbie's family Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Thallemer, Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 West Third Street, Mishawaka, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in St. Matthew Cathedral, 1701 Miami Street, South Bend. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the church, with Rev. Michael Heintz officiating. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Cathedral. Envelopes are available in the funeral home.
