CECELIA MIKULA (nee Bialota) Grand Junction, Colorado formerly Crown Point, Indiana Cecelia (nee Bialota) Mikula, age 92 years, passed away on Friday, September 5th, 2008 in Grand Junction, Colorado. She was born in Gary, Indiana on October 28, 1915. She married John Mikula in April 1937, and they were married 71 years. She lived in Crown Point, Indiana, Saugatuck, Michigan and Mill Creek, Indiana before moving to Grand Junction, Colorado. Cecelia graduated from Purdue University as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a long time member of SS. Peter and Paul Church. She was also a member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters and the Polish Women's Alliance of America. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia (Donald) Short of Mill Creek Indiana; her son, James (Cheryl) Mikula of Rensselaer, Indiana; two brothers, Frank Stuart and Stanley Bialota; one sister, Jennie Costy; six brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law. She is survived by her husband, John (Ben) Mikula, and daughter, Maxine (Rick) Schafer of Grand Junction, Colorado. Also surviving are grandchildren, Tim (Denise) Short of Mill Creek, Indiana, Christy Short of Mill Creek, Indiana, Terry Mikula of Renssellaer, Indiana, Jennifer Mikula of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Michael Schest of Phoenix, Arizona, and Stephen Johnson of Chesterton, Indiana; great grandchildren, Sandy Schest of Lowell/Bloomington, Indiana, Brenden, Wesley, and Aden Short of Mill Creek, Indiana, and Evan and Mya Haws of Mill Creek, Indiana; son and daughter-in-law, Donald Short and Cheryl Mikula. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Cremation will follow a private family service.
