Michael Walkowski, aged 68, of 514 North Johnson Street, died at 8:40pm Saturday in his home after a week's illness with a heart ailment. He was born in Poland, August 20, 1873, and came to South Bend from that country 41 years ago. Surviving are three sons, Peter, John & Clement Walkowski; four daughters, Mrs. Lottie Zakrzewska, Mrs. Jennie Swiental, Mrs. Stella Chelminiak and Mrs. Vera Nemeth, all of South Bend; a brother, Joseph Walkowski, of South Bend; a sister, Mrs. Victoria Brezezinska, of Milwaukee WI and 17 grandchildren. Friends may call in the home. The funeral will be held at 10am Wednesday in St Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Anthony J. Rozewicz, CSC, pastor, chanting the requiem High Mass. Interment will be in St Joseph's Polish Cemetery.
