Sally S. Lape, 85, of Parrish Court South Bend, died Sunday afternoon in Healthwin Hospital. Sally was born September 2, 1920, in Columbus, Ohio, to Lowell and Nancy (Ferguson) Smith who preceded her in death along with a brother, Donald Smith. On December 1, 1945, in Detroit, MI, she married Jerry F. Lape Sr. who survives along with three sons, Jeff of Rockford, Illinois, James of Mishawaka and Douglas of South Bend; and a brother, Kenneth Smith of Grosse Point Park, MI. Sally was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and Christ child Society. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, in the HICKEY Funeral Homes, 17131 Cleveland Rd. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until services Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Humane Society of St. Joseph County or Christ Child Society.
