Betty L. Bennett, 89 years old, passed away at 4:50 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022 at the Signature Health Care of Bremen. Betty was born on April 15, 1933 in Mishawaka to the late John L. and Julia V. (Fuchs) Wozny. She has been a lifelong resident of Lakeville. On April 18, 1953 in Lakeville, Betty and Arthur Bennett were united in marriage. Arthur preceded her in death on November 7, 1983. Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jennie and Jim Olsen of Lakeville; five grandchildren, Lisa Plummer, Lori Stafford, Summer Bennett, Leah Richards and Jessica Zawacki; 14 great grandsons; 2 great granddaughters; her brother, Mike (Regina) Wozny of Lakeville; and sister-in-law, Doris Wozny of South Bend. Along with her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Jeff Bennett; sister, Marilyn Weiler; and brothers, John Wozny, Jr. and Danny Wozny. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Betty L. Bennett may be donated to the Lakeville Fire Department, P.O. Box 223, Lakeville, IN 46536.
