NEW CARLISLE - Dorothy R. Tabler, 86, formerly of South Bend, passed away at 11:26 pm Tuesday, December 13, 2011 in her residence. Dorothy was born on March 29, 1925 in South Bend to Frank and Mamie (Miller) Wisniewski. She was employed by Scottsdale Mall and was a member of Ardmore Wesleyan Church. On September 29, 1943 in Walkerton as Dorothy Wisniewski she married Orville L. Tabler. He died on March 16, 2002. She was also preceded in death by daughter Barbara Jo Tabler, sister Patricia Luther and two brothers, Robert Wisniewski and Reynold Wisniewski. Surviving are 5 daughters: Gina (Stanley) Szczerba of South Bend, Ruth Ann Thatcher of Phoenix, AZ, Jacqueline (Ralph) Grove of New Carlisle, Janice Tabler of South Bend and Elizabeth (Dan) Willis of Terre Haute, IN; 4 sons: Terry (Jill) Tabler and Michael (Tina) Tabler both of South Bend, Timothy (Cheryl) Tabler of Greensboro, GA and Scott (Julie) Tabler of New Carlisle; 27 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; a sister, Karen (Edward) Starzynski, and a sister-in-law, Patricia Wisniewski, both of South Bend. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, December 17, 2011 in Sonlight Fellowship Wesleyan Church, 3702 S. Michigan Street. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 Friday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue and 1 hour prior to services Saturday in the church.
