SOUTH BEND - Ruth Ann "Ruthie" Thatcher (Tabler), 64, passed away Friday, May 2, 2014, in the home of her daughter in Glendale, Arizona. Ruthie was born in South Bend to Orville and Dorothy (Wisniewski) Tabler on August 12, 1949. She was employed by The Salvation Army in Phoenix, AZ. She leaves behind her two daughters, Melissa (Juan) Mendoza of Glendale, AZ, and Michelle (Julian) Huizar of South Bend. She had twelve beautiful grandchildren, Adrian, Juan, Anjelica, Stephen, Daniel, Melvin, Gabriela, Jose, Victoria, Miguel, Julian and Nicolas; and great-grandson, Xzander. She has four sisters, Gina (Stanley) Szczerba, Janice Tabler of South Bend, Jacqueline (Ralph) Grove of New Carlisle and Elizabeth (Dan) Willis of Terre Haute, IN. She also leaves behind brothers, Michael (Tina) Tabler of South Bend, Timothy (Cheryl) Tabler of Greensboro, GA, and Scott (Julie) Tabler of New Carlisle. Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Barbara Jo Tabler and brother, Terry Tabler. A memorial celebration of Ruthie's life will take place at Sonlight Fellowship Wesleyan Church at 3702 S. Michigan St. in South Bend on Friday, May 24, at 2 PM, with Dr. Dan Willis, Sr., Pastor of Hulman St. Wesleyan Church in Terre Haute, officiating. Published in South Bend Tribune on May 18, 2014
