This index contains the family histories of immigrant families to St. Joseph County & surrounding counties in Indiana & Michigan. In each case the files contain the village, county/province and country of origin in Europe allowing access by the researcher to Church records indexed by the LDS. The objective of this historical database is to identify family birth origin not complete histories of the individual family.

This data is the result of my personal research, transcription & indexing of the “Ladewski Papers” and contributions of researchers across the country. Although a majority of the names are Polish in origin the history of any immigrant family is included to aid the researcher in their journey into their origins.

This index is a work in process, we gratefully accept the corrections and contributions of researchers like yourself but ask that prior to submission you have identified your family’s village, county and country of origin. The author will however assist any researcher in this task on a time available basis.
