Blanche Dreibelbis, 95, of the Countryside Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mishawaka, Ind., formerly of Helmen Road, South Bend, Ind., died at 6:40 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16, in the nursing home. She was born on Oct. 26, 1903, in Monterey, Ind., and had lived in this area most of her life. She was a retired self-employed bookkeeper. She was married on Dec. 31, 1922, in South Bend, as Blanche Schall to Lee Dreibelbis, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nadine Akamon, who died on July 23, 1996; seven brothers, Lewis, George, Walter, Joseph, John, Darrell and Jess Schall; and by three grandchildren, Dennis Summersgill, Sheila Eaton and Dr. W. Joseph Eaton. Mrs. Dreibelbis is survived by three daughters, Anadell R. Deranek of Granger, Ind., Lorraine Summersgill of South Bend and Virginia Eaton of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and by her sister, Lucille Reiner of California. Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 19, in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 20. Rev. Gene A. Eckerly will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Brethren Church, 811 E. Colfax Avenue, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
