John and Jane (Nelson) Eichorst celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends on August 22, 2009, with a dinner at the Holiday Inn. Following their 1959 marriage at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Eau Claire, WI, they lived in Des Moines, IA, before moving on to South Bend, IN, in 1961. John and Jane have four children: John (Susan) Eichorst of Anderson, SC, Jim (Nancy) Eichorst of Granger, IN, Janet (Bev) Eichorst of Prescott, AZ, and Julie (Steve) Collier of Granger, IN. They are actively involved in the lives of their six grandchildren Cassie, Ryan, and Connor Eichorst and Melissa, Clay, and Sarah Collier. John continues to enjoy practicing family medicine at the Clay Township Clinic in South Bend.
