SOUTH BEND - Thomas R. Kucharski, 67, of South Bend, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 16th, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Tom was born on September 16, 1947, in South Bend, IN, to the late Stanley A. and Naomi E. (Cramer) Kucharski. He has been a lifetime resident of the Michiana Area. He retired in 2009 from Atlantic Aviation as a Supervisor. He then went to work part-time at 7-11 on Mayflower Road in maintenance. On November 12, 1988, in South Bend, IN, he married the former Karen K. Bauer, who survives. He is also survived by three daughters, Tammy R. (Danny) St. Clair of South Bend, Sheryl L. (Dan) Ferenczi of Niles, MI, and Christy L. (Eric) Shriver of Niles, MI; one sister, Meri Kay (Bob) Bauer of Mishawaka; one brother, Stanley K. (Jill) Kucharski of Niles, MI; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all whom he loved and cherished. Tom loved spending time with his family at Lake Michigan. He also enjoyed watching all sports, especially football, and was an avid Notre Dame and Colts fan. Friends may visit from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Saturday, August 22nd, at Hanley and Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, State Road 23/West Ireland Road, South Bend. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 5:00 PM in the funeral home. The family requests that all memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society , 130 Red Coach Drive, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
