MISHAWAKA - Ellen Louise Zakrocki, 92, of Mishawaka, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2016, at the home of her loving daughter, Pam (Zakrocki) Myers. Ellen was born on December 4, 1923, in Russiaville, IN, to the late Raymond Frederick and Maude Nancy (Wheeler) Rodgers. In 1953 Ellen married Clarence A. Zakrocki. Ellen and Clarence were married for 27 years; Clarence passed away on August 15, 1980. Ellen was also preceded in death by her 2 sons, Earl W. Bradford, Garry A. Zakrocki; 2 brothers, Donald and David Rodgers; and a sister, Evelyn Pearce. Ellen is survived by her 2 children, Dennis L. (Linda) Bradford of Austin, TX, and Pamela S. (Jon) Myers of Mishawaka. Ellen was a grandmother to 10 grandchildren, Carri, Garrett, Chris Bradford, Melinda, Matthew Chisholm, Melissa Shriver, Dawn Krugh, Eric, Andrea Zakrocki and William Butler. Ellen was also a great-grandmother to 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.Ellen graduated from Russiaville High School and the College of Commerce. Ellen retired as a waitress from Albys Steakhouse where she also played the piano for the customers. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and gardening. The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, January 27th, at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, January 28th, at the funeral home. The family will meet for the burial at Shiloh Cemetery in Kokomo, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545; or to Pet Refuge, INC., 4626 S. Burnett Dr., South Bend, IN 46614.
