SOUTH BEND - Marie Jachimiak Monserez, 84, of Regency Place, formerly of Cottonwood Lane, died at 9:45 p.m. Friday in the nursing home. Mrs. Monserez formerly owned Beans Sports Shop. She was born Aug. 4, 1909, in Norway, Mich. On April 11, 1931, in South Bend, as Marie Dhoore, she married Joseph Jachimiak. He died in 1963. On May 1, 1970, in South Bend, she married Camiel Monserez. He died Oct. 16, 1983. Surviving are a son, Joseph Jachimiak of South Bend; a stepson, James H. Monserez of South Bend; four grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Frances Piechowiak of South Bend. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and Legion of Mary of the church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday in Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., where a rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity.
