Martin DELINSKI was born on 8 Nov 1872 in Kiedrowo, Poznan, Poland.

He was baptized on 10 Nov 1872 in Kiedrowo, Poznan, Poland. The baptismal record reads, "Born 8 November 1872 at Kiedrowo, baptized 10 November 1872 Martinus, legitimate son of Andreas Delinski and Marianna Jendrzejczak, Catholic inquil. Godparents: Andras Kasel, agricolae and Josepha Mazur, inquilina." . He immigrated on 6 May 1875. ,

His immigration record as noted in Germans to America gives his age as three years old. He immigrated on 6 May 1875, Martin immigrated to the U.S. along with his parents and his sister Catharina, arriving in New York on 6 May 1875.

He died on 5 Sep 1898 in La Porte Co., Indiana. Obituary reads, "TWO MEN MEET DEATH -- Run Down by A.C. & G.T. Train -- Frank Andrzejewski and Michael (Martin) Delinski, of South Bend, Killed in Laporte County -- Refused to Get Off the Track -- The Result Fatal -- Two South Bend [men] met death Monday morning by being struck by a Chicago & Grand Trunk train about two miles west of Mill Creek, Laporte county. The accident occurred between 7 and 8 o'clock. One of the men was Frank Andzejewski and the other a young man named Delinski. It seems that four men, all Polish, boarded a Chicago & Grand Trunk passenger train early Monday morning to go to Fish lake, Laporte county, to spend the day. The conductor refused to let them off at the ice houses at Fish lake which angered them, and they left the train at Stillwell. Two of the men, Andrzejewski and Delinski, walked a short distance from the depot and sat or lay down on the track. In a short time a train appeared and the men began to wave their hands. The engineer not understanding their actions, paid no attention to their signals further than to sound a warning whistle. The men, however, refused to move and both were killed. It is supposed that the men were under the influence of liquor.

Andrzejewski was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Andrzejewski, who reside on Arnold street. Besides his parents he leaves several brothers and sisters. He was about 24 years old and unmarried. The remains were placed aboard a train during the evening and brought to this city. The funeral was held Tuesday morning about 9 o'clock from St. Hedwige church, the pastor, Rev. Father Czyzewski, officiating and the burial was made in Cedar Grove cemetery.

Delinski, whose first name is supposed to be Michael, was about 20 years of age and single. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Delinski, reside in the western part of the city. Besides his parents he leaves two brothers. One brother, known as Buck, was catcher for the South Bend Stars and was killed about a year ago on the Lake Shore railroad west of the city. Delinski's father refused to have anyghing to do with the remains and the boy was buried in Laporte county." He was also known as Michael Delinski. This name is used in a newspaper article detailing his death. A family story is that he was an alcoholic who had lost a leg in a train accident. Aunt Honey's notebook says "Cousin Betty" (Betty Barczywski?) said that his father disowned him and wouldn't have his name mentioned in the house.

Irene Fodge was the person who knew about the train accident. Aunt Honey said she and her brother Johnny never knew about their Uncle Martin till just before Irene Fodge died. Irene told them about it and cousin Betty remembered him also.
